A lucky pen

Studying for the Massachusetts bar exam four years after taking the California bar is not fun. Sherry did get a great lift in the mail last night, though. Five years ago, her good friend Karen took and passed the bar. The next year, she sent Sherry a care package, complete with treats and the "lucky pen" she had used to write her bar exam essays. Sherry used the pen on the exam, and she, too, passed the bar. The following year, Sherry sent a care package, also including the pen, to another good friend, Tina. Tina used the pen, and passed the bar as well. Last night, Sherry received a care package from Tina, with food, study aids, office supplies, a sweet card and . . . of course . . . the lucky pen. Sherry had completely forgotten all about the pen, but feels somewhat more confident about the test now that she knows the trusty pen will be writing her essays. At about the same time, on the opposite coast, one of the three was also receiving (cautiously) good news on her own career front . . . But that will be more fully celebrated on this blog when things are more firm. Does all this make us superstitious?!?

That sounds great. But whatever you do, don't set the lucky pen anywhere NEAR your keys or wallets.
