March Madness

We haven't posted for a while. March has been a bit nuts; not only weather-wise, but work-wise, too, for both of us. But we're hoping it will get better now. You know what they say about March . . . if it goes in like a lion, it goes out like a lamb. Here's a little bit about what's been going on with us.

Brian's been working on his two-month trauma rotation, which extends through April. The rotation has some of the toughest hours he has worked thus far. He gets up at 4:15 a.m. and doesn't get home until between 8 and 11 on most nights. He only gets four days off in the entire nine-week rotation.

Sherry has been working hard as well. It paid off recently with a team victory for clients that has been publicized in some legal press. The National Law Journal, Wall Street Journal, Boston Business Journal, and several legal blogs (such as the Wall Street Journal Law Blog and the 10b-5 daily) are among those who have taken note of the successful opposition to motion for class certification (click for links to articles).

We've also been working hard on our house. We've done a lot with the lighting-- installing track lighting in the guest room/office, replacing the light/fan in the guest bathroom with a more decorative version and rewiring so the fan and light are on different switches, and replacing the (way too large) ceiling fan that was in our bedroom when we moved in with a light fixture we love. It is surprising how much of a difference the lighting changes have made. We have also been working on making our back deck homey in preparation for spring. We bought pretty patio furniture, 2 tall standing patio heaters and a small one for the table, and even an outdoor clock/thermometer. We also FINALLY moved all of our belongings out of storage, so we now have everything in our home (or at least, in our basement!), down to and including each of our teddy bears from childhood and our elementary school country reports. :) We've made decent progress in organizing all of that stuff as well. We also had the molding on our china cabinet rebuilt finally-- only a year and 9 months since we moved out here and it was damaged! This is all very boring to read, probably, but we'll post some before and after pictures soon and you'll see some of our progress. Things are coming along and we are finally starting to feel truly comfortable in our home.

In fact, we just held our first party! We threw an evening co-ed baby shower and dinner party for 20 in honor of our friends Sherry and Jens at our house on Saturday. It was so fun, and everyone had a great time, as far as we can tell. We were too busy hosting to take pics, but Sherry and Jens have promised to send their photos, which we will post. The best part of the weekend was that our friend Jessica flew out from San Francisco for the shower, and we (Sherry, Brian, Jessica and Jens) managed to keep it a huge secret from Sherry. On Friday night, we all met for dinner at Bricco in the North End and surprised Sherry. You should have seen the look on her face! Priceless. She tells us she is still in shock.

We have more to update, but that's enough for now! We'll post pictures soon! Also, we can't forget March Madness--
GO BRUINS!!! FINAL FOUR, BABY!!!!

Cute nephews

We haven't had any cute nephews posts in a while, so here are two of the pics that Eric and Kristen sent us from a recent visit to Chuck E Cheese. They make us smile, which is always needed. That's Tanner with the balloon (left) and Lucas the Builder (right)! Aren't they so cute? We love you, boys!
