Happy Easter, Everyone!
We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. Brian actually had the weekend off, which was nice. We actually had a busy social weekend, starting Thursday night. On Thursday night, Brian went with several co-residents to see Rod the Longbone, the Harvard Orthopaedic Surgery band, at Harp, a fun local bar not far from us near the Banknorth Garden. Here he is (left) with general surgery residents Luke and Lawrence. On Friday, night we went to have a nice, relaxing dinner at the Blue Room in Cambridge. While there, we ran into an attending surgeon with whom Brian works. (Have any of you noticed that this always seems to happen when we go out?) The attending told Brian that he should be home sleeping. Ha! Afterwards, we went to see Blades of Glory. It was pretty funny!
On Saturday, Sherry worked and Brian actually did catch up on some sleep. Saturday night, we
went out to a festive holiday dinner with several co-residents (and spouses) at Davio's, and eventually moved to Jury's so we could hang out longer. It was a fun night and nice to actually get to hang out with other residents for once, as it is so rare for them to get together, given their schedules. Right is a photo of residents Mike, Manish, Abby, Brian, Courtney and Nikki at dinner.
On Sunday, we attended Easter service with our friend Courtney (pictured in the Davio's photo). The pastor gave a unique, rather academic sermon on the resurrection. We then came home to prepare Easter dinner. Our friends Jens, Sherry, Abby, Michael and Courtney came over for dinner, and we had a wonderful holiday feast! It is so nice to fill our home with friends. It's been ten months since we bought our house, but it is still a nice feeling. It was a very cozy, relaxing holiday. We hope you all enjoyed yours as well.
