Goodbye and Hello

First, a very sad goodbye: Sherry's Uncle Calvin died last weekend in his hometown of Aransas Pass, Texas. He was a wonderful man, quick with a laugh. He was a World War II veteran, the brother of many (including Sherry's mom), a father and beloved grandfather, and to Sherry and Stacy and countless others, a great uncle. He will be missed very much by all, and we specifically are praying for dear, sweet Aunt Billie, that she will find comfort in her family and friends at this time.

The past week was busy. Brian is at Children's Hospital this month and working very hard there. Sherry was in Portsmouth, New Hampshire on business all week. We had a nice break last night, when we had a wonderful hello: We met up with two friends from Stanford Med School days-- Kathleen Conroy (right, in the pink shirt with a bunch of others from the Stanford crew on one of our Hausboating trips), who is a resident at Children's Hospital, and Brooke Cotter (left, with Brian at graduation), a resident at Stanford who was in Boston for the weekend. We had dinner at 33 and after Brian went home (he had to work at 5:45 the next morning), the three girls had a "girls' night out" at local spots City Bar and Sola's (click for links). It was fun. We forgot to bring a camera, though!

During February, we were neglectful on this blog of some very important birthdays and an important arrival, so those will be coming this week. Stay tuned!
